Word of the day Function Keys by Margaret Leora workman; Warponie Art

Have you ever wondered what the ‘f’ keys are in the computer keyboard? I used to use them sometimes in my computer class in high school. I read what they are for and a person can use the mouse for all of those ‘function’ keys. Are they useful if you do not have a mouse for your computer?? Who doesn’t have a mouse? You know what a mouse is right?? A mouse directs the cursor, it’s the little thing that has the rollers on the bottom that you slide on the mouse pad so that you can direct the cursor. Anywayz I read what the function keys are and no one needs to even know what they do or are. They don’t even need to be on the keyboard because they are from the computers that lived in the Stone Age. Archaic. Maybe people like to use them instead of a mouse? And then there is the tool bar that one can use, or the right click. Right click on your mouse and there will be some other commands available to use. If you are scrolling using the mouse click on the button that sticks up out of the mouse. It will help you to scroll faster! In high school we had floppy disks and hard drives and computers that had the green lettering on the screen. Now we have other web based programs. What about the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard? This is for someone who has a job doing 10 key. I taught myself how to do it before and it’s super easy. You just have to practice. It allows you to enter in numbers at the speed of light without looking at them. Just like typing. You are not supposed to look at the computer screen while you are typing, or the key board. Practice and you will remember where the keys are. Certain jobs require you to type at least 20 words per minute. Without mistakes. I had typing class in high school but we used typewriters where you had to manually take out mistakes with typewriting correction tape. It was super duper fun. If you want to access the number pad press the ‘num lock’ key. It means number lock. A red or white light will show up on the keyboard meaning that it’s on.
