Wooden Flowers Art Poetry by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art Thank you for that stage.

Thank You for That Stage.

People are here
and people are there
Please keep track of them
in and out
out and in
Wait…how high is my hem?
I saw him
who was that?
You know him
he is always at bat.
What about her?
She is a for sure.
They came in
along with all of their again-s!
They tell us to run
but we will never get in.
We are destined to never get in.
But they said we could
if we would
perform for them.
You might have it
the wit
and the gumption
But I have no ammunition left
I had wondered if we could play today
but the stage is taken.
We once had it
in our honest, true selves.
Then we left it unattended.
These two snakes came in
and claimed it.
For now sugar
we have to watch
as the hours go by.
When is their wagon coming back?
It surely should be soon,
but its taken up slack
and now we are stacked.
They said for me to run the trail
because that’s successful.
Sometimes the mirrors don’t match,
so what do you think?
Please don’t shrink.
Should I tell you what to do?
And what the answer is?
I can’t but I always want you to be in bliss.
Do not miss the opportunity
But first look at them
look at their wagon.
Does it shun?
What else did they say
to make you go their way?
They promised me a good day
If I showed them the way.
I guess then let me say
please don’t betray.
