Watering can with Flowers and bees by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I took a copy of a page out of this book called ‘How To Clean Everything’. The first copyright that this book has is 1952! I always wondered how people cleaned things back then. I imagine that a woman once owned this book and had it next to her Betty Crocker cookbook in her kitchen. My grandmother had one that had a plastic binding on it. And that woman probably had a green double oven with flowered wall paper. Maybe red and gold shag carpeting in the living room with yellow patterned linoleum in the kitchen. And I bet she had just bought a Kirby vacuum and had two chickens in the oven. Anyway, I got this book at the thrift store so I imagine the original owner had these things. And….she always wore a dress while here husband went bowling on Tuesday nights. I wonder if she ever received one of those matching bowling jackets so that she could go bowling with him.

I used a stamp that had a can of flowers design and painted the flowers in and I did that with the bees as well.

These are the stamps that I painted with black craft paint. It’s kind of hard to get the stamps to not smudge and look like big blobs of paint so it takes practice. The stamp didn’t work that well so I just painted in the flowers.
