This was bought from me on eBay today, so excited! It was fun to make. I used a large can of sweet potatoes and latex paint. Homemade decoupage and construction paper for the flowers. First blend the construction paper in a blender. Add that to glue and water. Measure the mixture with a tablespoon and Pile it on, then use a hair dryer to dry each one. First, cover the can with decoupage and cover with paper, any paper that you want. Paint that with paint plus decoupage because it makes the paint clear, like a stain. That allows you to draw on it.
If you do this add the glue after taking out the construction paper so that glue doesn’t settle in the blender.
The one on the left has no paper and the one on the right has copy paper decoupaged on. I used latex paint on one and craft paint on the other for the top layer on the paper along with the decoupage. it made no difference. But the first layer has to be the latex so that it doesn’t scratch off of the can. If you use craft paint on top then you can use different colors of craft paint with the glue and water so that it’s see-through. You don’t have to do it this way.
Take a blow dryer and blow them dry and then press the paper into the grooves with a dry paper towel or your hands, so that it will be smooshed onto it.
The person who bought these wanted black flowers instead, so I am making that instead. These are in the process of being done. I still have to draw more things with a marker
So the flower on the left is drying and I still have to paint white around it like I did on the flower on the right. It sort of ‘bleeds’, but that is what paint is for. I have been drying them with a hair dryer. I started these yesterday evening, I drilled holes in this big one for the wire, for the handle. I think I am going to use silver wire. I like gold but I like silver more.
Flowers are mostly done, I might dab on some black paint. I just have the stems and leaves to do.
I am done. It took me longer than the ones that had purple flowers I think! I hope that they will like them!

I did these today! I really wanted to do something in yellow. I will send these with the other 3 that I did yesterday, just as a thank you. I know that they like black flowers but they can just do whatever they want with these! They are so light it won’t be more shipping anyway. I didn’t talk them, hopefully they will be ok with it! I always assume that people like free stuff. Right?
