Yes I know that if I had new wood I could cut all of these boards to fit exactly and have a schematic and such that I am following but I only have these boards that I have salvaged from other places. These are really sturdy! I have to do the same sort of thing for the frame for the top and then the side boards. I will be using polycarbonate sheets for the sides and top. Yes it will be a small greenhouse but just right for a small bear like me….dont you hate when people see you like that? Ok I will keep you posted. Anyway the nice thing about this is that I had to cut nothing, I just screwed it all together.

It’s really sunny out today so it was hard to see what I was photographing but I have gotten the bottom frame done and two of the boards up for that one side that meets the house. I do pocket hole cheats for some of these. I know there are official gadgets that you can buy for those but all I do is screw in the screw about 3 centimeters in straight (either with the pilot hole or without) then angle the screw towards the other board and drive that in. It’s hard to do because you have to get it far enough away but not too far from the other board and at just the right angle, but I never know when I am going to have to use the pocket hole, so I forget to buy one and then will I pay 20$ and never need it again?

I ran out of screws so I had to stop, the corner board was straight but then…well it’s crooked but maybe in a good way. See how it’s angled in at the top? I seriously tried to straighten it and no matter what I did it stayed that way. I put the outside board at the top to make it look straight on the outside! I started one side of the roof that will be closest to the back door of the house. I wanted it to jut out and then slope down. It’s been quite rainy here, or I might not have thought about it! I started the polycarbonate sheets on the side and I will put them on the roof as well.
I changed the roof and took the door off and leveled the 2×4’s

I am going to continue the greenhouse structure on the other side!

I had zinnias here last year and many hummingbirds were here all of the time. There has been one flying around the zinnias that I currently have so I planted more just now along with radishes, rutabagas, parsley and cucumbers. I put them here in this space under the window. When the zinnias died this winter they were so tall! I used them as dried flowers in one of the Mattie Marshall art pieces that I made for Valentine’s Day! So fun!
