This really nice hiking area is in the town that I live in. In this area of New Mexico this is the vegetation that is here. Some people call this a desert. It’s pretty interesting. I think some of these rocks have fossils and the ocotillos are also fossilized. This is what it looks like all around the whole town. I am from Denver with urban sprawl so this was a culture shock to me. I also grew up in a small farming town in Kansas so I am used to seeing wide open spaces but I had moved away from that to the city. It’s still a culture shock but the sunsets can be nice out here. And I was able to see some eagles today but the sun was so bright I couldn’t even see to get a picture of them!
