So many doves came back today to eat! I am so happy. It rained yesterday, which it really never does in this part of New Mexico, so all of the tubs had mush in them so I only filled up one tub. I put in uncooked rice because they requested it and bird seed and chicken feed that is good for hatching eggs for chickens. 2 summers ago I had bags of rice on my porch one day to wash. I know I am a dweeb but I didn’t want disease on my bags of rice. So then the doves started pecking at the bags. I figured that doves are smart and they know what they like to eat so I opened them and put the rice in bowls (outside). They were so happy. That’s why I feed the birds because of that situation. I am sure that they find bugs elsewhere because they fly away all of the time! They are so silly.
