Last year there was a speckled Black bird in my neighbors roof of their shop. I am finally seeing another one now. In the last picture it looks like he/she is coughing and it’s spraying liquid out of its mouth. It looks like the liquid is spreading into two different trails. Maybe it has something to do with it marking its territory? I just happened to take the picture right then.
Here is the speckled blackbird from last year around the same in March. This is where it nested. This is my tree but my neighbors shop. I think this year one will be in the same place because I have seen one fly in.
