Poppy the Pitbull is an extremely stubborn puppy! I think that is a very good trait to have in a dog. He is extremely intelligent and he doesn’t want me to be in control of him and I really like that. He is a challenge for me to be able to figure out how to help him to be happy and to get along with society. To me that means not to bark unless it’s a worrisome situation. I hate walking through alleys to find dogs that are uncontrolled and barking like a crazy, crazy animal. It’s extremely scary! I went to the shelter here in town and all of the dogs there were in some sort of fear zone where they bark violently! And that is extreme scary. One thing that happened with Poppy that has changed things dramatically is I decided to have him sleep with me in my bed. I like to do that but it’s a bit of work and then my other dog will have to be free to be on my bed too. I have really bad allergies so that means they have to be bathed 90% of the time to get all of the dead grass etc.. off of them! More work! Maybe I am selfish! Anyway he sometimes wants off of the bed and that is not going to happen, because then it will be up and down all night. I have to train him to lay down the whole night, but it’s possible. Now because he has been sleeping with me he now will walk on a leash and come to me when I tell him to come! A huge success! That will lead to other successful training situations!!
