Have you ever read the Old Farmers almanac? It’s not for people who get confidence from their own gardens because you can look at it and all of it will disappear. Anyway they have zones for each state so that you can know when to plant each plant outside based on your position on the globe. Your position on the globe decides what climate that you live in in your state. besides, Rabbit who is friends with Pooh bear uses it as a guide and harvests plants even if the plants aren’t ready to be harvested. I feel like a gardener because I know about this book! Yes I know I am not the only one but I can pretend.
If you ever get the discounted plants, you know the almost dead ones, that you think you could bring back to life and then they die anyway you can always collect the dirt and the pot that it was in. You will have to buy less potting soil the next year and you can use the small pots to start seeds in inside for next season. If the pot is super cool then you have saved yourself 8$ because you didn’t have to buy a new one off of the shelf.
If your plants aren’t doing well in the sun, even though the directions say that it needs full sun, then move them to the shade. I wonder what type of sun they are talking about. The sun is positioned in different areas and affects each area of the earth differently at any given moment. This has to do with the different seasons that the earth has and how we rotate around the sun and then the earth spins at the same time. This spin-age causes the seasons. So the sun could be closer to the earth in one state but in another the sun will be farther away. So in one area it will create more heat then in another area so plants will be affected by the more heat/less heat idea. We as people don’t think of this and we throw our plants outside because the directions said full sun and then they die.
I forgot to mention don’t forget about the equator and how far away you live from that if you are trying to garden and you also have to understand how humid your area is. The closer you are to the equator the hotter you will be! So the northern states always have 4 seasons with snow because they are farther away from the equator so they have a shorter growing season. The southern states have longer growing seasons because they are closer to the equator and so this leads to the idea of why each state has different plant zones. also remember those geysers they will blow at any moment especially if you are close to many volcanoes. And what about plate tectonics?? The earth is made up of these and if you are on one of those divides where they rub together your garden could just FALL right into the earth and then those elves that live there will get that pumpkin! That you were going to enter into the state fair people! THINK!
SUCKERS!

So I have read a long time ago that tomato plants have to have their suckers taken off. the store obviously did not do that and I forgot until now. Now they are huge! A couple of them looked better than the other branch so I left the sucker and pruned the bad branch off. The sucker lives in between the main stalk and the branch coming off. If you can get them in time then I think it is less stressful for the plant. If you don’t remove them it might or might not be a big deal. Maybe you can get less fruit if you don’t because more energy is used for both stalks. Also this plant seemed so ‘woody’ because it’s from a hothouse so I pruned it and took many of the leathery branches off.
