I remembered today something that my grandmother had told me about but I had forgotten…the difference between cling peaches and freestone peaches. The flesh of cling peaches stick to the pit and flesh of the freestone peach is easily removed from the pit. The tree that I have is a cling peach tree. She also told me there was something called ‘clingstone’ peaches while my grandfather always went snipe hunting. He and his friends never came back with one. I was five and wondered why…I guess they were too small and well grandfather, obviously it’s too dark outside.
