My kitchen by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

Remember when I said that I put my bed in my kitchen? Here it is! That white door leads to that small hallway that I just added that extra wall to that is in btwn it and the living room that I am renting out. The yellow door has the new cut-out that I cut with a jigsaw. That goes into that bedroom. The wooden panels that are behind the fridge cover over the opening to the bathroom. I can easily unscrew those temp. panels that serve as wall decor. I am going to put the same panels over the white door to match. I just added bead board (wainscoting) to the walls in here to make it cute. This brown blanket is actually a rug!! I wanted more of a couch during the day, so this material is definitely like a couch. I can just take it off each night.

Now I am going to put in some upper cabinets. I bought the least expensive ones, though they don’t match, that’s ok.

Thank goodness I had help from one of the renters here! He held them up and I screwed them in to the studs. I found the studs then drew a straight line down below the cabinet so I could see where to screw them in at inside of the cabinet. It was helpful. I did that for each stud and I wrote the measurements between each stud. Since I had three different cabinets that were different widths, this helped me to know where I could put each cabinet so that each one had a stud. for the last small cabinet I had to remove the door because of the light fixture being in the way.

I put up the other panels on the other entrance to the hall. Sometimes it is nice to temporarily seal off a door to see if it looks better and doorways and windows don’t allow for wall space to be had!

The door way is the yellow door that goes into the bedroom. I wanted there to be more space btwn me and the renter that is in the living room. I bought these wooden panels at Lowe’s. I don’t remember what the tag on the shelf said for the size but they are a one of those ‘in general it could be this size’ situations.

16 inches wide by (around) 36 inches tall and 16 inches wide by anywhere from 48 inches tall to 51 inches tall. The thickness is between .5 and .75 inches thick. If you get these don’t pour straight soap on them to wash use a mixture of soap and water as the soap will stain it. Also the water will cause them to warp, and they shrink. Mine had gray soot all over them so I had to wash them. For 4 of these it was around $50.00 that I paid.
