So I was watching a video on Twitter (x) that had two dog owners fighting and their dogs were fighting each other accidentally. I liked this video! I am not sure if it was staged but it brings awareness to this situation that people may not want to admit is a situation! Right? I leash my dogs, even in my yard because I want them to only go to the bathroom in one area. I leash them if I walk them as well. I think I have had three fights with people over the last few years when their seemingly ‘safe’ dog comes barreling up to my dogs. They yell and scream at me when I ask them to leash their dogs. They become offended that I ask them to follow city ordinances. They hideously claim that my dogs are dangerous because I leash them. Last summer I had to stop walking my dogs because dogs are everywhere here, unleashed. It’s a very bad situation and very scary to me because: did you know that New Mexico is the DOG FIGHTING CAPITAL! And that’s where I live. I see the effects of it when I have gone to the shelter in this town, and how the people act here is ridiculously unsafe. I wanted to mention that. So please don’t blame us, who leash our dogs, for all of the hideousness in this world because you don’t like those silly boundaries being placed upon you by the city ordinances. Thx
I almost forgot! My dog Baby was stolen out of my yard several times over the last two years. It kept happening over and over. I was really wondering if it was a renter that was living in my side yard apartment! One time she was left the next morning on the street in front of my house almost dead. I had to drag her into my yard because she couldn’t walk. I had to revive here by doing some chest compressions on her rib cage (I just guessed). When you are desperate you will do anything! She did survive. She was drugged and not aware of what was happening, so yes I am extremely protective of my dogs!
