I am starting a bunch of seeds in here, I know it’s late but the NM growing season is a little longer here. I wasn’t going to do it at all but I decided to do it anyway on a whim. I am going to staple plastic trash bags over these so they will be free of the wind and stay moist. These are random boards that I had in my yard. I haven’t screwed them together yet. I’ll do that tomorrow. I tried to pick ones that were the size that I needed so I didn’t have to cut anything. I know there are many people who actually measure garden boxes and they use schematics and certain tools to cut them but what if my garden doesn’t work out and I measured for nothing so I try not to care and maybe this will actually produce some vegetables. I’ve tried measuring before, but I always want a different size than what will actually fit in the area that I want so I just stopped measuring.

I assumed nothing would grow so I threw the seeds in my yard without making the garden box!! Now, the squash and whatever else I planted is growing with all of the grass and weeds as well. Why should I label anything?? When I try to do everything perfectly, with the right soil etc…it dies anyway. I just threw these seeds in my yard and threw some mulch on top. And these two garden boxes have way too many tomatoes growing….i assumed they would die as well, but they are still living. I hope that they will keep growing! It’s already June now.

These are all tomatoes and peppers! I don’t know what to do! I don’t want to thin them out what if I choose the wrong ones?! So I am going to do nothing. I used the same brand as the seeds that I tried starting inside. Organo Republic and Back-To-Roots.

This is where I put a small greenhouse shelter over these since it’s already July and these plants are taking their time in growing, I wanted to extend their lives. I hope that they are grateful!

I just thinned this patch out. I picked random leaves that were the biggest ones and will dry them and save them in my weed collection so that I can use them in smoothies, when brewing coffee and tea. It seems like I should have some fruit by now. There are squash blossoms but no fruit growing yet.

This is the first fruit that I have seen in my garden! It looks like a squash, right?? It’s long and probably something that I would never buy at the store. But it does look so pretty! I guess I will be eating it, it’s the only one?? I did the plant finder on my phone and it said that it was either a cucumber or squash. I did plant cucumbers over there, I wonder if it’s seeing both vines? So I will keep you posted. I knowwww that some of you know what it is already! But it’s still a mystery to me. I do know that it isn’t an ornamental squash! I bought a bin of seeds off of eBay one time and I received those in that. It said on the package that you could make a bowl out of those. Very interesting! Nope, will not do that. What would you use that for??
Okayeeee! Peeps! Here is my huge reveal! You have seen those in blogs right??? Well here is mine!

This is the ONLY VEGETABLE THAT I HAVE GOTTEN FROM THIS GARDEN THUS FAR….. yippee.
So it’s now almost September 1st…,when I planted these it was May 18th. ALMOST 5 months ago…and look how big!

They are still growing but they are so small and they are not growing tomatoes…how could I have done things differently?? I guess these could be the seeds that I meant to plant for next season…. I am ahead.
