Forever and a day..,by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I finally got this deck done the other day for the mist part. Have you ever bought these boards???? I bought them when they were greenish and heavy from Lowe’s. Then I put them on the deck and had them unattached for several months. During that time they warped very badly and curled around and went up and down at the ends. I was really frustrated and didn’t know what to do. Then it started to rain here for like a week straight it seemed, and they started to lay down flat!!! So while the weather was taking a break from raining I screwed them down to the pallets that are under them. I made the pallets even with pavers under the corners of the pallets. The boards started to dry while I was screwing them in so I wet them down with a hose. I kept them wet during that time. I easily screwed them in without pilot holes using an impact driver drill! It looks so nice! I will have to keep checking them as they continue to dry to check for loose boards. It took me under two hours to install these boards.

Here is a project that one of my renters is doing for 3 months free rent and I bought this mini-split for around 800-900$ on Amazon. I charge 750 per month but really it’s worth 850 but it’s hard to find renters sometimes in this city even though I heard on the radio that the city of Carlsbad has complaints about the lack of affordable housing here. Hmmm… the main industry here is the oil field. I think that even 850$ per month is affordable. It has its own bathroom, front loading washer/dryer/ stove & fridge. Hotels here run 125$ per night but I can’t seem to get a lot of traffic for these rooms. Anyway, this guy says that he could put a mini-spilt into this room in one day and it’s been three weeks! I was hoping to have it done by the end of the month! How can I get him to do it?? I bought him a few candy bars.. He did fix my HVAC system for the house! And..remember the guy who installed the bathroom last year? He is supposedly a contractor. He installed a vent to the bathroom through my roof that has no flashing or tar. I had no idea. This guy found it! And fixed it. Thank goodness!!! I have those pictures posted on this blog, and the things I had to finish for the bathroom, but I never got those 2×4’s back that he took from my perfect wall that I had installed. He said they were trash, uh no buddy they were not trash. Do you think I am frustrated still?? Yes I really am. That’s life I guess.

Let me not freak out continually…😢
