Do you chew when you sing? by Margaret Leora workman; Warponie art.

I really liked the first sentence of this poem. I have had it written down for a few days. Today I decided to do some sort of writing exercise and write two different poems but use the same beginning sentence. I tried to make one happy and one sad. Try and guess which one is which.

Do you chew when you sing? Oh, please give him a minute. You look so divine, so heavenly on that vine growing so steadily, your taste and smell makes me so heady. The color red, so beautiful. Juicy is the word. Behind those curtains is a day of joy, a day to enjoy. Everything in that box of tomatoes should be on display, let’s play! What do you say? Oh, what a grand day full of sonnets and grand pianos. Do you chew when you sing? Savory or sweet? What about that fleet? The convoy coming into the bay into view? What did you do? were they called? Remember, I was the envoy and I blew that horn. Why wasn’t it shorn, and done away with? Sith you had that scythe and sickle. Oh, that one did blow. Do you chew when you sing?

Do you chew when you sing? Or am I just your fling? No matter who I am, I guess, I will never be your lovely Anne. Terrible nights and nameless days, I walk around in this haze. You and I never were and that’s what you were sure about– love and hate. That was the fate. Everything is so slate. What about my plate? You were too busy and that is ok because nothing mattered anyway so what the hay, what should I say? You are a Sally every day. Do you chew when you sing? Those words knawed you off and snapped you in. Am I too frat? What was your opinion? Was I too fraught, for your taste, too full of crout, you know too automated, too Sour and full of haste. Pin that in, pin that up. What’s up? Do you chew when you sing? By Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art
