So if you decide to get married did you know that you can hyphenate your last name? I think I have heard about women keeping their last name and not taking their husband’s name. I decided to hyphenate mine when I got married. That was 19 plus 6 years ago, but for some reason I was thinking about it. I think that some women don’t know about it. I always thought that was for the true feminists from the 60’s who did those sorts of things. I didn’t think that anyone would care…right? Well my sister-in-law cared, just so that she could gloat about how she didn’t hyphenate her last name and be the glowing angel at family dinner. But like she wasn’t around then, and not at the DMV either for that split second decision of keeping my full self totally in tact. But I never let her know that right then I thought her weak and insignificant. I wouldn’t think that of normal people though, just her, since she thought I was against the family and the whole industry of it! Anyway, there are many benefits of that, like still being you. Can’t we just stay who we are and keep or family name? Do I have to disappear into someone else’s name and a family who wasn’t there when I played Yahtzee with my own family?
