Decisions by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

The department of education is deciding this in concordance with the department of education loans regarding masters degrees, but is it only masters degrees? I read that the loan amounts from Student loan.gov are being capped. When I was trying to get a second bachelors degree I applied for student loans by filling out a FAFSA. I did this at many schools. I was accepted by these schools but they would not even talk to me about financial aid and FAFSA said that the schools were in charge of deciding if and how much I would receive for financial aid. Then about 2 years later, a couple of schools told me that I was at my loan limit but according to Student loan.gov I still could have received more money. I told the schools but they would not respond. Yes this situation is about the department of education saying that these degrees now are not considered professional but I read that it had to do with student loans being capped at certain amounts. I did notice accounting and nursing. Have you noticed on the website Indeed, that if you wanted to look for an accounting position or a bookkeeping position, companies will list both as sort of being the same? Interesting and horrible! Do you remember those kiosks at Walmart that do taxes for people? It used to be H&R Block but are they still around? Were they accountants or just bookkeepers? I used to donate plasma when I lived in Colorado for extra money. The people who do that work are called phlebotomists. One of the guys told me that the hospital was going to let him work at the hospital since he knew how to draw blood with no nursing classes, as a nurse, not as just a phlebotomist! How much has this happened elsewhere? I have a bachelors in social work. When I got my degree from Colo. state university it was needed to even get a job in that field in Colorado, but many places across the United States do not require a degree to get a job working for and paid by that state as a social worker!!! Maybe this could be one of the reasons for this change, based off of the workforce requirements that the actual workforce put into itself on purpose or accidentally, that has happened over the last 20 years.

In my opinion: the DOE would have to regulate the quality of each class at each university. There cannot be a ‘middle class’ type of class, right? So all of the required classes would stay the same. Then classes for all of the degrees that are not professional (including the classes for the newly deemed unprofessional degrees) would have to all be at the same low standard for homework and/or requirements. Then the degrees that stayed in the professional category, the standards will have to be a lot higher so that they can legally and morally say that they are a professional degree! They cannot just say that they are astutely appointed without more requirements and there should be no middle ground. Everything would have to be regulated. We can’t have the same standards and requirements for a class that was for a professional degree, but now isn’t! How can that be? I would like to refer to bachelors and masters level. Each college that has a very high GPA level entry level requirement would have to lower that. Community colleges will have to have the same standards as a 4 year university! Sad! NOT! What about professors! And their own requirements, right???? What type of degree should they have to teach? Shouldn’t it be in accordance with regulations so that the students will have the same standards? It’s only fair to the student. What about all of those online, offsite classes that universities use? I believe one of the universities in Texas uses this set up for their online classes. It’s like a hideous ‘in your area depending on the state’ type of class where you don’t know the teacher but it could be your next door neighbor who is always breaking into your yard and committing crimes of destruction at night. Does anyone wonder about that? Like they know you are in their class but you don’t know who they are because they use a different name! Anyway, what if they use a community college for those online classes even though they are a 4 year, RIGHT? That’s not within standards. What about all of those online books that you paid full price for but were swiped back by the school when the class was done so that they could charge another student $139 for that book. What about the quarter systems versus the arduous and very lengthy semesters that take a whole lifetime? Those standards are different with the amount of information that is doled out. What about a college’s standard of giving out student loans from the FAFSA?? Many schools didn’t contact me about student loans and the student loan.gov people said that it was the schools’s choice to approve loans to students. Shouldn’t that ability be taken away from the school and given to the student loan people? It is a huge conflict of interest when the schools get to control all of that instead of a third party! Shouldn’t the third party government regulate government money? Not a college employee who is not employed by the government.

I received this today in the mail. Except that they dropped me out of a class with no explanation, twice. The professor said they could not do that, but colleges can do anything that they want! With no explanation
