Christmas Skeleton by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I didn’t want to confess this to anyone….but I have been waiting for Santa Clause for a while now… many people think that they know what happened to him but…here he is. HE IS the Christmas skeleton. What did you receive?? A blow dryer?? Well I rarely use one sooo I don’t need that, but congratulations, how fun. Cigars?? From china?? Not even Bolivia?? What a joke, and, anywayz, I don’t smoke. An orange from your wagon? (That’s why you are missing one! Didn’t you hear hooves landing on your roof and then they came down and landed next to your wagon?) Your old darned socks? Hmmm…no, they don’t even match. (Don’t read this if you put cookies out for Santa.) the end. Wait where is that lump of coal? Thanks Christmas skeleton, I guess one lump has to last the whole year!

The next day for the Christmas skeleton! What about me! What about us?! He is resting with his heavenly coffee and we are out in the snow! Does that mean I have to wear that ugly Christmas sweater that I borrowed from my aunt? Isn’t she a 4xl???

??? The people of the world had misunderstood what was happening to Santa! If someone had been watching Star Mountain one night, A skeleton skiing down that mountain was Santa trying to get back home to the North Pole, where the reindeer were, he hoped. The large elves in the forest had kidnapped him. He used to be one of them, but he grew too big, even larger than they were, so they left him in a snowdrift one night during a blizzard. He was so cold! He decided to build a cabin for the smaller elves and himself so that they could keep warm. The small elves, who had been rejected by the large elves as well, had been walking through the flurries and wanted to be next to a fire that he was able to create inside of the cabin, called a fireplace. Luckily for Santa the forest needed to be cleared of all of the dead wood that had piled up, so he set to work. He liked having new friends who were the small elves. He wanted to make toys for all of the small elves to be entertained while they took to the task of building more cabins for themselves. There was so much wood to choose from! He talked to the smaller elves to help him to make these toys for all of the families. Eventually there were so many toys that were made that they wanted to share these toys with the whole world. Since the tall elves left him in the snow drift and didn’t care about him, he used the small elves to help him to make the toys since there were too many to make. He didn’t like making toys out of wood because he always got splinters. ouch! The smaller elves happily spent all year making all of these wooden toys for the whole world and he used the reindeer who had been lost in the forest to help him. He rounded them up in the circle of small houses and fed them there. He and the reindeer start delivering toys to the whole world in all sorts of ways. After many centuries of toys being delivered by Santa, the large elves eventually kidnap him and tell the whole world that he is a failure along with many other lies. They did not want people to be happy with all of those toys. The large forest elves wanted some recognition, so they decide to input their plan of putting in a pretend Santa, who was tall and fat, but not jolly like the original Santa was. The tall, fat pretend Santa didn’t sweetly say ‘hohoho’, like the original Santa did either. While they are using a pretend Santa, they sent the real Santa on a scavenger hunt. They give him a list to complete, and they give him one year to complete this list: First, he must make sure that all of the stores have legal sized paper and folders for people to buy, not just the small letter sized paper can be available. The stores did not think that legal sized paper was important any more or convenient! Second, he must tighten all of the wires on all of the clotheslines in the world. Have you ever had to use a loose clothesline to hang out your clothes? Third, he must find homes for all of the homeless cats and dogs of the world. Fourth, he must find and return all of the lost shopping carts to all of the stores. Fifth, he had to restock the helium balloon sections of each of the stores that sold helium balloons. After a year, Santa, now designated as THE CHRISTMAS SKELETON, escapes from the large elves of the forest and skis down Star Mountain. Unfortunately, there are some bulldozers along the way that he runs into. There had been an avalanche, and all of the snow was covering them, so he did not see them. Because of this, he falls into a cave under all of that snow. It drifted into all of the low points of that mountain because the forest had not been cleaned for a whole year, while he had been kidnapped.
