I was born in 1976, so I am generation x. I read that generation x is the forgotten whatevers. We are so forgotten I don’t even know the word ‘generation’. We came after the baby boomers! The very important baby boomers and before the millennials, the people who are always analyzed! So I guess we are the middle child who has no description. Our music is the 90’s and 2000’s right? What about the 80’s?? I sort of like the 80’s music but I wasn’t old enough to really understand the social impact of that music. But what about the 60’s and 70’s music? For some reason I can see the social impact of that music easier than anything that the 80’s music did for society, except that it said men could still have long hair but use hairspray as well. And what about those exercise leotards and leg warmers on stage, something normal for them. Anyway, in my opinion, the 90’s music and the music of the 2000’s didn’t get their day of understanding what the social impact was. I was watching a video by the RHCP on YouTube and I really think that people were still looking at the 80’s music and wondering what the 90’s and the rest was about. Maybe we should revisit the 90’s music and the after music because I think we missed it!!! Now can the generation X get some sort of title?? It feels like a ‘John Doe’ or ‘Jane Doe’ title! Btw I have met some millennials and I think I wanted to see them cry, oh wait they already were cuz like they didn’t get their sandwich the way they wanted it. By Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art
