There are 71 days until Christmas Day

16 days until Halloween

And 44 days until thanksgiving

I didn’t realize everything was so close. When I was a kid days were endless. Now things are going by so quickly. I wonder how much stores will make this year off of the holidays? There have been so many natural disasters, it feels like the holidays are ruined. I am on Twitter and all I see, scrolling through, is people fighting and yelling at each other. These situations look scary, honestly. Maybe we don’t have to have anything from the store to be happy at Christmas or Thanksgiving. What about Halloween? It doesn’t seem safe, but maybe I am over reacting?? I know many churches have Halloween activities! That’s easy to say though right? It’s hard to even go to church if you have no friends who go there. I remember going to a new church, when I was getting divorced. I didn’t know that I was going to be in that situation. I went to church by myself and no one said anything to me at all! I have been to a few and the same thing happened. I asked at the front desk if they had any groups. I had to tell them that I was separated, right?? Well they held their nose high and looked at me with complete disdain. I guess it was my fault because the world had stopped turning. I only went there a couple of times because of that. Then during the service the guy calls people who are divorced the UNCHURCHED! I talked to him about that because I like to hear people’s thoughts. He was divorced. Can we say CONFUSION. Dementia is what I was thinking about. I grew up going to church sort of, I don’t now. So I had to say this because suggesting church to people can be disheartening if it doesn’t work out for them. This is a real situation. I went for more than 20 years, substantially, and had to TELL people to talk to the new person that walked through the door. I was kind of bossy. Then I was in that situation and no one was bossy for me. I think that church people worry that new people will be liked more than they are liked so they run away from them and only talk to them if others are talking to them. It’s junior high there. There are no answers for it.
