This situation is my fault. I planted the bird seed that I use to feed the birds and mice outside. I never knew that mice even liked birdseed until they started showing up and jumping into the containers. But the birdseed started growing in my yard! So I planted some inside to grow sunflowers. And now I am finding mice living in my flowers.
