Lady Auburn Art by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I have seen a couple of articles lately about the 1950’s about how women want to live like the 1950’s housewives did. So I looked up some of the popular phrases from that era. I thought these were fun and when I think of the 50’s I always think of apples for some reason. I really can’t imagine that society could ever go back to that because of the feminist movement that came after that. Even fashion kind of leaves out the 1950’s as it keeps cycling through over and over again. Plus 1950’s women never went out in their ‘house clothes’ because that was only at home that they wore scarves on their heads. If they went out they wore outside dresses and gloves, right? Well I surely don’t have those gloves or an outside dress. How could you possibly shop for anything in a dress and gloves. And I don’t want to look like the cartoon ‘Beauty and the Beast’ honestly. And I don’t like those purses that they have to carry and fanny packs are even worse. I try not to have opinions but, seriously, fanny packs? Do those women get dates? I guess they don’t have to worry because they are already married. So how do women who are the new 1950’s wife announce that that is what they are doing? They would have to wear a scarf and a house dress to the store and the gloves as well. That would be the ginchiest! And they would have to use the word ‘cranked’ because that meant ‘excited’ in the 1950’s. I will keep my eyes peeled for these 1950’s housewives. If I see one I will cheer you on! And be totally supportive of you in your journey, love!
