Building a few more walls by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

Yes I think if you wanted a whole system of soffits under the ceiling then use the square footage rule, right? But if you already have duct work installed in the attic then I would think that they have to be considered into what you want, especially if part of it isn’t getting enough air flow. So adding one or two soffits under the ceiling would make up for the ducts that aren’t working in the attic. Can you just say since I have two ducts that are not getting the correct airflow in the attic would I add 2 soffits under the ceiling? What if you don’t know how many ducts are not getting enough airflow? Maybe you could just add one and see if that takes the strain off of the rest? And if it does sort of then, maybe add another one into a room that isn’t getting enough airflow from the duct or maybe a room doesn’t have a duct to it at all. Instead of an actual duct inside of the soffit, could you cut some free cardboard to size and tape it together with duct tape as a mock duct and run it through there? Anyway, I have asked three different companies to put a blower on my system and one person agreed, but then his manager said that I would need to have everything reconfigured first.

Pics of nice soffits with vents.

This is a small soffit above this wall that used to be there. I am rebuilding it. I assume it’s a soffit for electrical work since it’s so small

When I did this I installed the 4 sides first and installed them piece by piece. Then measure from the center side board 12 inches down the board and mark it on the front of the bottom board. The center of each vertical stud will be those marks. Then measure the length of each stud, hammer it in, do the unofficial pocket holes (drill in 2 centimeters, drill down at an angle), make sure that it’s level with a level. Then do the pocket hole at the top. I installed each one separately because I was afraid that if I used the measurement that was correct for one and then used that for all of them, then it wouldn’t be the correct measurement and I was correct because several of them were different measurements.

So I will have to do a soffit to this area
The rest wasn’t important I forgot about the time limit. Who knows what I was saying, anyways

I found such cute wall paper behind the first layer of drywall

I will leave this wall intact. I was going to remove it to give the bedroom seemingly more privacy and I wanted to have the air from the kitchen vent flowing through here. but if I leave it up, then the bathroom can still be considered a master bath because it won’t have an entrance from the kitchen. I am reading that a master bath is worth more to the home value than a shared bathroom. Plus since it’s so old, I think that I will have to keep it intact.
