Air pollution. Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I posted about this pollutant pm2.5 this summer. My post is called ‘fun free weather app’. I was randomly looking at the weather bug app and saw that I could look at all of the air pollutants in my area right then! I thought it was super interesting. Now I am reading on Twitter (X) that there are several states that are enforcing a ‘shelter in place’ because the levels are too high. The information is on the weather bug app about the levels in your area and then a map of the rest of the U.S.

I am not taking sides, for or against, but just wanted to show where we could find this info instead of relying on the news etc…

Does anyone remember learning about the element called radon?

Here is the periodic table of elements

Radon 86 is in the yellow metalloids section. Pm2.5 (particulate matter) does not tell us if it’s on the table of elements and/or what it is in detail.

I read that seismic activity, such as earthquakes, affects Pm2.5 as well as fires.

I posted this on Saturday but WordPress didn’t post it until yesterday

Here is the map this morning from WeatherBug of pm2.5 and it looks worse
