For this art I took a piece of 6 inch by 8 inch MDF and painted it. Then hot glued the fabric on the the fabric. I then cut out some petals from thin cardboard such as a cracker box. Trace around those with a pen onto the back of fabric. Cut and hot glue them onto the cardboard petals. Then hot glue them around the middle. You can buy a low temperature or high temperature glue gun. Be careful when working with hot glue. If you have a pen or marker you can use that to smooth everything down once you have put hot glue on.
For the middle of the flowers I added 1/4 cup hot wax to 1 cup of white glue. Before that I took 1 piece of purple construction paper and blended it in a blender with a little water. Blend that with the glue and wax. Place small balls onto the MDF board and let them dry for 12 hours. You can dry them with a blow dryer at the beginning and it will help them to set up. These will be the middle part of the flowers that you see here. The construction paper allows for the added color without having to use paint.

These are some petals and such that I drew onto cardboard, then I cut them out. I keep them in case I want to make something with flower petals. You can draw around them onto fabric or draw flowers with these onto paper. One is a leaf and the others are petals. They will always be the correct size!

Red and green for Christmas!
