I’m Alive by Margaret Leora Workman; Warponie Art

I wrote this poem this year when I was taking a couple of college classes. I might have been thinking of my professors at this time. It seemed like I could never get a clear answer so I sent one of them a video of me asking him my question, and then he said he never received it! I thought it would help…

I’m Alive, HAHAHAHA
I’m alive, I’m alive!
I’m alive and in your eye!
I’m alive and around your head!
Buzzing…..
Would you like a different situation instead?
Regarding that, I do not care
as I follow you around, please do stare!
I love the attention
have I gotten that from you yet?
I bet…
I do, I already placed my bet on that
successful endeavor
in the poker game that I am in forever
with all of my friends
who can fly at will.
We have already bet that bill
that we could enter your house and be a pill.
Yes we disregard you and your personal things
as we rack up our pings
and report back at our poker game
how we destroyed your sanity
but we don’t care
because we have never received a Christmas card from you anyway
validating our existence
So we don’t give one single pence
about you and your fence
of anger and flame
it’s all hot air anyway
and we don’t take you seriously
because you don’t have any curiosity
about why we are here!
What do we do except fly and annoy?, you ask!
Is there anything good that we could say about ourselves?
Could we, perhaps, be more important than elves?
Are we more important than forest elves?
What about Christmas elves?
BTW are they different?
We have always wondered that.
Maybe they both have the same sort of DNA?
Oh well, maybe they are false characters anyway.
So, what does it matter?
Oh do stare!
Because we might like your pear
why is that so wrong?
We are here to stay
don’t be mad, we just want to buzz and play…
BUZZ OFF, you say? Oh dear! Don’t delay! We don’t care anyway!
