Of Course I Admire You…
How can I enunciate clearly,
oh deary.
You are highly intelligent,
even heaven sent.
The world floats in the air,
just at the thought of you walking.
Flowers rise at your command,
even though they were dead.
You have every man
at your command walking,
their feet were made of lead,
but you somehow commanded them not to be dead.
Your two eyes decided to wink
-Oh, I should have noticed that you only have one.
Your bounce has, kind for all
turned into a limp,
what a party, what a ball!
Your voice was once commanding
but now it hurts our ears when you sing,
about that thing
that you once did long ago.
-Oh, that whale did blow!
But that oil…
Now everything is so dark,
like it always has been for you
and we hold that to be true,
because there was always a fumble
from 4 hands, not just 2.
Which uniform?
Does it matter?
Not really at $4,000 to $5,000 a seat,
Who will be beat?
Do we have to wonder in this heat?
What if it has already been decided
because of all of those bets, I bet…
So… why bother?
Why give up food and electricity and travel for
that expensive seat?
And what about granny’s heat?
Let us give that up too.
And she doesn’t need her other shoe,
she will understand
that she has to play in our band
and give up life and limb
for our tree
that sits on the side lines, but you see…
I bet she will see us on her t.v.
at home, half barefoot
in all that soot
that we left her in
-Oh, what a sin!
